Winterthur Estate Swivel Rocker X Back

Gentle motion and a decorative X back give the Winterthur Estate swivel rocker its European character. It swivels and rocks, so a single chair can face a garden, then a table, then the fire, and the pierced aluminum back panels keep the piece from looking heavy even at 36 inches deep.

## Design and Construction

The frame is premium weather-resistant powder-coated aluminum with an aluminum seat deck, finished in Obsidian Black. The back panels carry pierced aluminum mesh decor accented with aluminum finials, and the arm is cast aluminum drawn with an urn profile, slightly tapered and flat across the top. Those details are what separate this X Back version from the collection’s standard swivel rocker chair. The swivel rocker base is built into the frame.

## Comfort and Seating

The seat is 24 inches wide by 21 inches deep at a 21 inch height, with arms at 25 inches. The 21 inch seat height sits close to indoor seating, so the chair is easy to rise from between drinks, and the 21 inch depth pairs with a substantial cushion for a supportive rather than sprawling posture. Overall height is only 34 inches, which keeps the decorative back below eye level across a terrace. At 63 pounds it is one of the more movable motion chairs in the Winterthur Estate program.
